Michael Cavaliere - Print Contest Winner Michael Cavaliere has been printing and shooting digitally for about seven years. He shoots mostly landscapes and people. He has been a member of the Greater Bridgeport Camera Club for the past 10 years. His club is one of 80 clubs belonging to the New England Camera Club Council. Visit Hawk Mountain at the 61st NECCC annual conference July 14th-16th, 2007. www.neccc.org Michael’s portrait, Tom, was a model at the NECCC annual conference in Amherst, MA last summer. Michael encourages anyone new to printing to, “Attend workshops, (like these). There are a lot master photographers that teach the fine art of digital photography today.” Michael was happy with the way his print of Tom came out. He has tried other papers in the past but likes our Grayhawk Bright White. When he found out that he won the Hawk Mountain paper photo contest, he was caught off guard and did not expect to win. He likes the deep richness in the tones when he prints in black & white on the bright white papers. Our award winning Condor Bright White can be found here: http://www.hawkmtnartpapers.com/condor.htm#Condor%20BW Michael was taking some evening graphic design courses at a local college in Connecticut, when a friend introduced him to Photoshop. He bought it and started digital printing with an HP printer but did not like photos coming from it. From there, he bought his first Epson. He liked what he was getting from it, so he bought the Epson 2200 that he is using now. He enjoys photography and taking pictures on trips with his wife. He finds it very relaxing. He does not like having to go through so many files to find “That right photograph to print” though!
